GETTING AROUND
Villa the Jo is located in the eastern part of the city of Malaga, or 'Malaga Este' in a neighborhood called Pedregalejo.
The villa is just 4 km away from the beautiful center of Malaga. Pedregalejo beach is the most lively beach area of Malaga with lots of great bars and restaurants where many Spanish families come to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. This part of Malaga is also called the Hollywood Hills of Malaga. And when you walk around you immediately understand why! Beautiful wide roads lined with palm trees and only low-rise buildings give the area an upscale feel. The beach -with numerous traditional fishing boats- makes the area a true holiday destination!
Arrival at Malaga Airport
When you arrive at Malaga Airport you can take a taxi or Uber to the house. It's just a 20 minute drive! You can also rent a car upfront or at the airport. At discovercars.com or doyouspain.com you will get a competitive price comparison.

Public transport
From the villa it is a 1 min walk to the bus stop that takes you straight to the center of Malaga. Within 10 minutes you are in the center to zip on your first drink. Even at night there is a night bus that brings you back to Pedregalejo. Don't feel like waiting for the bus? There are cabs and Ubers everywhere that take you for about 7 euros from the center to the villa.
Bike rental
There is a bike rental spot just around the corner from the house. You can rent a bike for 10 euros a day. It takes you about 15 minutes by bike to get into the center of Malaga. When you are sportive, you can cycle all the way down by the sea to Torremolinos!
Supermarket
There is a large, upscale supermarket with in-house bakery, butcher and cheese store within a 3 minutes walk from the villa. Supermarket carrefour is open from 9am to 10pm, so very convenient.
Gas station
There is a gas station at the beginning of Pedregalejo, only a one minute drive away from the Villa. Easy when you arrive by car or need some drinks and snacks at nighttime.
Pharmacy
Also the Pharmacy is around the corner and also open from 9am to 10pm.

Hospitals
The general emergency number in Malaga as most places in Europe is 112. When you are on vacation, it is of course possible that you will need medical attention. In that case you don't need to worry because Malaga has no less than 5 hospitals. Phone numbers and other emergency numbers we have collected and you will find them in the iPad in the villa.
